About Me

Our mission at Diane River Coaching is to empower people to more fully connect with their inner experiences through safety, acceptance, and self-compassion. Enabling them to gently release the past and confidently and comfortably step into the present. We do this by utilizing gentle and effective modalities and processes that honor and validate the clients lived experiences, while working at the nervous system level to neutralize and release stuck emotional memory.

Diane River is a skilled practitioner and coach, certified and trained in numerous modalities. She has spent countless hours studying and learning about the human psychology, trauma (big T and little t trauma), early development and the impact that childhood abuse and trauma has on our later years of life.

She not only has a deep understanding of how to identify and release these core experiences and memories, she is a survivor herself. She has a deep level of compassion and empathy and an unmatched ability to honor and support you through this transformational journey.

You know when you start up a conversation with someone and they ask, “Hey! How’s everything going??” And you respond, “Fine!” or “Good!” or maybe even plaster that genuinely fake smile across your face and say, “Great! Never better!” and quickly move away from focusing on how things really are?

You want to believe that things are “fine” or “great”, but you know underneath that they are anything but. Really, you’re stressed, anxious, exhausted, afraid, stretched too thin, hurting, depressed, lonely,... or any other myriad of emotions.

You know you can’t allow yourself to be honest about how you’re doing, because to feel what’s really going on under the surface might open the floodgates of emotion that you know you can’t hold back. So you go through life in “fine” mode. Staying busy and distracted, disillusioned that this state is real, and everything else is all in your head.

Except it’s not.

It’s all in your body - in your nervous system. And your nervous system always wins. Driving behaviors, moods, outbursts, unhealthy relationships, addictions, self sabotage, staying small, and whatever else is holding you back from actually feeling peace, having joy, and enjoying your own life.

What if I told you it didn’t have to be this way? That there IS a way to process these emotions that won’t overwhelm you, won’t be painful, and isn’t “another program” that doesn’t support you right where you are now - ultimately leading you to “fail” at yet another thing.

This is exactly what I do…

I help you identify the core wounds, beliefs, and patterns that are hiding under the “I’m fine” that’s keeping you stuck, overwhelmed, and ultimately avoiding experiencing and enjoying yourself and your own life. I take people from avoiding and not being able to tolerate their own emotions, to embodying the best strongest version of themselves.

It can seem scary - this overwhelm is often riddled with shame and guilt, but I carefully create a safe space of acceptance and compassion, where you get to be validated in YOUR experiences - often for the first time in your life.

I hold space for you to experience your emotions while bringing in modalities that allow you to feel and process them slowly, safely, and practically painlessly. So you can witness and heal those wounded parts of you that have never been seen, freeing you to step out of the pain of the past and into the present in ways that aren’t just tolerable, but actually enjoyable!

You’ll never have to fake a “fine” again! I can’t promise that everything will be fine, but I can say that no matter what you are feeling, you will be able to tolerate it. And that’s a freedom that most people don’t get to enjoy.
